After a whirlwind year, Peter Katz is ready to take the world by storm. Nominated by Canadian Organization of Campus Activities (COCA), the collective of Canada's Campus show bookers, as 2009 Emerging Artist of the Year, Katz is set for his upcoming summer tour of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Holland.

Having just completed a 9-date tour in Holland to promote his debut album 'More Nights' and in support of well-established Dutch artist Lucky Fonz III, Katz returned to Canada to complete his follow-up album, due for release in 2010.

"Peter Katz has steadily made a great name for himself in the Canadian music industry. His high-energy performances, and well-crafted songs make him one of the best live acts I've had come through my club in years," said Chris Loane, venue booker for Toronto's The Drake. "His music seems to strike a chord in people." Katz's peaceful, honest and uplifting compositions have also landed him comparisons to folk legend Jeff Buckley and soul/acoustic star Martin Sexton.

Katz's dedication, strong work ethic and original sound,have lead to his success. To date, he is the recipient of CBC's Galaxie Rising Star Award and the Grand Prize Winner of Toronto's Indie Week. Katz has accomplished five successful national solo tours and received invitations to The Ottawa Folk Fest, Canadian Music Week, NXNE, played sold-out shows in Holland, the U.K., Russia and Karmina Palace in Manzanillo, Mexico as well as attended the National Arts Centre for the Vimy Ridge 90th anniversary ceremony.
